What is the difference between Personal Trainers? Aren't all Certified Personal Trainers essentially the same?
- No. There are about 300 different certifications. Of those 300, there are only about 10 that are truly credible. Try and make sure one of your trainers certifications are accredited with the NCCA. Though the NCCA is typically considered the gold standard accrediting company, try and at least make sure your trainers certification is accredited with the DETC, IHRSA, or the CHEA.
How does having a degree in the field really help you be a better trainer?
- Having a degree in a fitness, or fitness related field is more advanced than any certification out there. Even the best certifications are nothing more than a 2-3 hour test. Having a degree in the field requires 4 years of intense classes including: Anatomy, Physiology, Human Movement, Human Biology, etc. With a degree that has included exercise science classes, you can be rest assured your trainer is knowledgable and has taken their profession very seriously.
What is this unique style of training you do that you keep mentioning?
- Our style of training utilizes a very unique and scientific approach to training. We mix a lot of different styles of training into one that will do more than just help you reach your weight or strength goals, but that will also improve your every day life!
I have a very hectic schedule. Is it okay to change my days and times each week?
- We will always try and work with you and your schedule to the best of our ability. If you need to reschedule a training session, we will try and work with you. However, we do prefer for you to stick to certain days and times each week so you can learn to ensure fitness becomes an everyday routine- just like taking a shower or eating dinner.
I can only train with you one or two times per week. How am I supposed to know what to do on my own?
- We create you programs to do on your own that is very specific to your goals and/or any medical conditions you may have. We will ensure you understand exactly how to do the routine and why you are doing it so you can gain maximum benefits!
How much weight will I lose in one month?
- As much as we wish we could tell you that you will for sure reach your goals in one month, we cannot. Everybody is different. One of the biggest elements is how motivated you are. We will guarantee you a great workout when you train with us, and we will give you all the guidelines and tools you need to get you your results. In the end, though, it is up to you to workout on days we are not together and to eat the proper foods!
Are you going to yell and scream at me like they do on The Biggest Loser?
- No. We do not believe in the old school sterotypical type of personal training. We will not yell, scream and push you past questionable limits. In the end, The Biggest Loser is a show that rely on ratings to survive. They will only show what they know people want to see- and that is drama and conflict with a usual happy ending. Remember that there are a team of medical doctors behind the camera of The Biggest Loser. We will not train you 8 hours per day and scream and yell at you... Instead, we will motivate, educate and help you achieve your goals in a very respectable and helpful way!
